PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stable retention of a brake member while a retaining member is easily mounted.SOLUTION: The spinning reel for fishing comprises a spool 3 which is fixed on a spool shaft 9 supported on a reel body 1 so as to be movable front-back direction and has a cylindrical part 35 for accommodating a brake member 10 as a drag mechanism, a drag adjustment body 20 which is screwed to a distal end of the spool shaft 9 and contacts the brake member 10 to adjust a frictional coupling force of the brake member 10 with a tightening force through screwing. A retaining member engaged with an inner surface of the cylindrical part 35 is provided for retaining and holding the brake member 10.
