Described herein are dental therapeutic compositions, and more specifically, dental varnish compositions useful for hypersensitivity due to effective fluorination, enhanced remineralization of tooth enamel, and occlusion of dentinal tubules. The hydrogel system comprises at least one polyphenol having at least one phenol group, at least one polymer, and a metal ion.
