A transport device comprising a chassis (9, see figure 1) and a frame (11), the frame comprising a first strut 14, and a second strut 140, wherein the second strut is movably connected to the first strut, wherein the second strut is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position in which it braces the frame relative to the chassis, and wherein the first strut comprises a recess adapted to accommodate the second strut in its stowed position. The recess may comprise a hollow interior and the hollow may comprise a rail or track to guide a first end of the second strut as it moves from either position. Said first end of the strut may be provided with a guide wheel which engages said track. The second strut may be pivotably connected to the first strut. The first strut may comprise a first strut portion (14a, see figure 7A) and a second strut portion (14b) moveably connected to the first strut portion, wherein the first strut is movable between an extended position where both strut portions are aligned along a common axis, and a folded position in which they are at an angle with each other.
