This invention provides a container for plant cultivation that facilitates introduction of soil for plant cultivation, can grow a lateral root without the need to increase the weight per unit area of a nonwoven fabric used, does not cause wound extension of the root, can reduce the cost, and is environmentally friendly.The container is an approximately inverted frustum-of-cone-shaped or inclined frustum-of-cone-shaped container, for plant cultivation, having an opening in its upper part and is characterized in that the side face and bottom face of the container for plant cultivation are formed of a nonwoven fabric of biodegradable fibers and paper and the bottom face of the container for plant cultivation is such that only the paper has through-holes.In the container for plant cultivation, since the side face of the approximately inverted frustum-of-cone-shaped or inclined frustum-of-cone-shaped container for plant cultivation is formed of a nonwoven fabric of biodegradable fibers and paper, the rigidity in the container side face and bottom face is increased as compared with the rigidity of the nonwoven fabric per se. As a result, even when soil for plant cultivation is poured by handwork or mechanically, the side face of the container is less likely to be deformed, and the soil for plant cultivation can be efficiently poured into the container for plant cultivation.
