The present invention relates to an agent for inhibiting elevation in postprandial blood glucose level, which comprises an ester of EPA or DHA ester as an active ingredient, and which is to be administered between meals. The invention provides an agent for inhibiting elevation in blood glucose level that has a high level of safety and desirable characteristics such as storage stability, in particular, a means for reducing postprandial hyperglycemia.
