PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant raising artificial soil structure of a thin layer, having light weight, excellent in workability and applicability, having high mechanical strengths, excellent in air permeability, water draining properties, heat insulating properties, or the like, and capable of being suitably used for a rooftop and a veranda of a building.
SOLUTION: The plant raising artificial soil structure is formed by laminating an upper surface of a base material 13 with at least one of a nonwoven fabric, a processed nonwoven fabric 3, and a plant raising sheet, and further laminating the laminated base material with a molded material 15 and/or a layer of soil 16, wherein the base material 13 comprises a platelike, boxy, gutter-shaped, drainboard-shaped, concavo-convex, or corrugated material and has many open holes bored thereinto, the processed nonwoven fabric 3 is formed by adhering activated carbon to the nonwoven fabric or impregnating the fabric with the activated carbon, the plant raising sheet is formed by adhering a reticular material and two pieces of the nonwoven fabrics to one another to form latticework and enclosing a fertilizer or a mixture of the fertilizer and the activated carbon in spaces of the formed latticework between the upper and lower nonwoven fabrics, and the molded material 15 is formed of a rock wool fiber.
