PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifying apparatus capable of precisely and easily calculating the real flow rate of blood extracorporeally circulating through blood circuits.
SOLUTION: In the blood purifying apparatus including a blood circuit 1, a dialyzer 2 for purifying blood flowing through the blood circuit 1, change applying means for applying an artificial change (blood concentration) to the blood of a patient extracorporeally circulating through the blood circuit 1 and detection means including a first sensor 5a and a second sensor 5b both of which detect the applied blood concentration, the detection means includes a pair of the sensors provided so as to be separated from each other by a dimension L, measuring means 15 for measuring the time until the change of a blood index value detected by the first upstream sensor 5a is detected by the second downstream sensor 5b, and arithmetic means 16 for calculating the flow rate of the blood flowing through the blood circuit 1 by a predetermined arithmetic formula using the measured time (t), the spaced-apart dimension L of the sensors and the inner diameter D of the blood circuit 1 within the spaced-apart dimension L.
