PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin pigmentation evaluating method which is easier and enables visualization, the presentation method, and an evaluating method of a therapeutic substance for pigmentation and a skin-lightening agent.

SOLUTION: In the pigmentation evaluating method in an evaluation region of a skin of a human, the evaluating method which includes processes of (a) simultaneously obtaining the evaluation region and a color image of a color chart for adjusting a white balance by using a camera on which a polarizing filter is mounted, (b) adjusting the white balance, (c) separating the color image into RGB components, (d) enhancing the contrast of the R image, (e) extracting the pigmented region and the shade of color of the pigmentation as an image comprising each pixel of gray levels by performing subtraction processing on the background, (f) performing binary processing to make the region clear, (g) calculating an area of the pigmentation region in the number of pixels and displaying as a numerical value, and/or displaying the pigmentation region as an image, a presentation method, and the evaluating method of the therapeutic substance, or the like are provided.
