A system for delivering stents, comprising: an expandable stent having a proximal and distal ends and a first locking structure； a catheter containing an elongated element with a second locking structure located around its outer surface with the possibility of movement to ensure interaction with the first fixing structure of the stent； and a sheath mounted on an elongated member and configured to be placed in a displacement position in which the sheath closes a stent mounted on an elongated member and in a placement position in which the stent is at least partially open. The system of claim 1, wherein the second locking structure is configured to move freely along the longitudinal length of the elongated member. The system of claim 1, wherein the second locking structure is movable along a predetermined length of the elongated member. The system of claim 1, wherein the second locking structure is located on the movable holding ring.
