PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that can be thinned with proper silence suppressing increase of noise, while allowing the use of a flat front panel.
SOLUTION: This air conditioner is constituted, by mounting a partition plate 2 to the front face of a body casing 1 and mounting the front panel 3 to the front face. Indoor air suction ports 8a, 8b are formed in the periphery in between the front panel 3 and the partition plate 2, and the whole space between the front panel 3 and the partition plate 2 is made a suction side chamber 7. An indoor blowoff port 18 is provided in a side face of the body casing 1, in a direction different from that of the indoor air suction ports 8a, 8b. A centrifugal fan 5 is provided in the body casing 1 so that a fan suction port 53 is opened to the front face. Furthermore, a partition guide member 9 for avoiding mutual interference of air currents from both indoor air suction ports 8a, 8b is provided between both indoor air suction ports 8a, 8b in the suction side chamber 7.
