PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display three-dimensional image data contiguous to two-dimensional image data.SOLUTION: For collecting and displaying two-dimensional image data and three-dimensional image data of a subject by using an ultrasonic probe 3 capable of two-dimensional scanning and three-dimensional scanning, a slice thickness setting part 91 gradually increases the slice thickness in the three-dimensional scanning from zero, and a transmission/receiving part 2 performs the two-dimensional scanning and three-dimensional scanning for the subject based on the slice thickness. At the time, a received signal processing part 4 and a data storing part 5 process received signals acquired from the respective scanning, and generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional data. An image data generating part 6 generates two-dimensional image data based on the two-dimensional data and three-dimensional image data based on the three-dimensional data.
