#$%^&*AU2017201622A120170330.pdf#####SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MIXING THE CONTENTS OF TWO CONTAINERS ABSTRACT There is disclosed a port assembly (1606) for establishing fluid communication between a first container (1602) containing a first substance and a second container (1604) containing a second substance, the port assembly (1606) comprising: a retainer (1624) for connecting to a first container (1602) a port housing (1620) for connecting to a second container (1604), the port housing (1620) defining a cavity (1710), the retainer (1624) positioned at least partially within the cavity (1710), the port housing (1620) comprising an axially fixed actuator (1622) constructed to force a stopper (1617) associated with a first container (1602) into a first container (1602) and a seal (1632, 1634, 1636) to prevent fluid communication through a fluid passageway between the port housing (1620) and an interior of a second container (1604), wherein the retainer (1624) is configured to rotate relative to the port housing (1620), wherein rotation of the retainer (1624) relative to the port housing (1620) causes the retainer (1624) to move axially relative to the port housing (1620) such that the actuator (1622) forces a stopper (1617) associated with a first container (1602) connected to the retainer (1624) into a first container (1602), and wherein rotation of the retainer (1624) relative to the port housing (1620) further causes the seal (1632, 1634, 1636) to open a fluid passageway between the port housing (1620) and an interior of a second container (1604).
