PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and an endoscope diagnostic apparatus for reducing the number of light sources for generating many kinds of illumination light to reduce product costs in the endoscope diagnostic apparatus for performing many kinds of special light observation.SOLUTION: The endoscope diagnostic apparatus includes: a light source device an endoscope apparatus for guiding illumination light from the light source device to irradiate a subject with the illumination light and picking up the reflection light a processor device for performing image processing of an image signal picked up and a display device for displaying an image obtained by performing image processing. The light source device includes: a light source for narrow band imaging for emitting narrow-band light an optical distributer for distributing the narrow-band light into two narrow-band light of the same wavelength and a polarization modulator for successively modulating one of the narrow-band light to a plurality of polarized light different in polarization for polarized light observation.
