PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of supporting determination of staging of diabetic retinopathy.SOLUTION: Imaging data of an eyeground photograph of a subject is obtained by imaging an eyeground of the subject with an eyeground camera. Contrast of the imaging data of eyeground image of the subject is adjusted uniformly in the whole display. A diameter of a portion which is brightest is made within a range of a reference diameter in the adjustment. Then, it is determined whether a diameter of a portion which is second brightest is in a range of the reference diameter. When it is determined that the diameter of the portion which is second brightest is in the range of reference diameter, a distance between centers of the brightest portion and second brightest portion is calculated. When the calculated distance between the centers is in a range of the reference distance, the subject has high probability of being with proliferative diabetic retinopathy or preproliferative diabetic retinopathy. When the calculated distance between the centers is not in a range of the reference distance, the subject has high probability of not being with proliferative diabetic retinopathy or preproliferative diabetic retinopathy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】糖尿病網膜症の病期の判定を支援する方法を提供する。【解決手段】被験者の眼底を眼底カメラにて撮影して被験者の眼底写真の画像データを得、該被験者の眼底写真の画像データのコントラストを画面全体一律に調整し、その調整で、１番目に明るい部分の直径が基準直径の範囲内になるようにしたときに、２番目に明るい部分の直径が基準直径の範囲内にあるか否かを判定し、２番目に明るい部分の直径が基準直径の範囲内にあると判定された場合、１番目に明るい部分と２番目に明るい部分との中心間距離を算出し、算出された中心間距離が基準距離の範囲内である場合、前記被験者が増殖糖尿病網膜症または前増殖糖尿病網膜症である確率が高く、算出された中心間距離が基準距離の範囲内でない場合、前記被験者が前増殖糖尿病網膜症でも増殖糖尿病網膜症でもない確率が高いとする。【選択図】図１
