A method for ablating tissue in an organ inside abody of a subject includes bringing a probe inside thebody into a position in contact with the tissue to beablated, and measuring one or more local parameters atthe position using the probe prior to ablating thetissue. A map of the organ is displayed, showing, basedon the one or more local parameters, a predicted extentof ablation of the tissue to be achieved for a givendosage of energy applied at the position using the probe. The given dosage of energy is applied to ablate thetissue using the probe, and an actual extent of theablation at the position is measured using the probesubsequent to ablating the tissue. The measured actualextent of the ablation is displayed on the map forcomparison with the predicted extent.
