The method includes the following method steps:an acquisition of 3D image data by means of the medical imaging device prior to the medical imaging examination,a calculation of 3D position information for the patient on the basis of the 3D image data,an acquisition of movement data by means of at least one motion sensor unit during the medical imaging examination anda determination of information regarding a movement of the patient, wherein the 3D position information for the patient and the movement data acquired by means of the at least one motion sensor unit are included in the calculation.
