There are disclosed various embodiments of a combined balloon dissector withballoon tip cannula which are provided to facilitate forming an anatomicalspace within the body, such as, for example, an anatomical space in theabdominal cavity or extraperitoneal space for facilitating hernia repairsurgeries. The combined balloon dissectors with cannula generally include acannula assembly for anchoring the device to the abdominal wall and adissector assembly having a dissection balloon at a distal end for separatingtissue layers and forming an anatomical space. Various combinations of valveports and sub-assemblies are disclosed for providing inflation fluid to theballoon tip cannula, and inflation fluid for the dissection balloon.
