PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shorts type absorbent article which is easy to tear in the vertical direction with a side seal part as a starting point and to remove easily.SOLUTION: A diaper 1 includes an exterior body 2 and an absorbent body 3. The exterior body 2 has an abdominal side part A, a back side part B, and a stretched elastic member 4. Both side end parts 6a of the abdominal side part A and both side end parts 6b of the back side part B are joined to form a pair of side seal parts 5, a waist opening part WO, and a pair of leg opening parts LO. The diaper 1 is provided with a pair of straight-line breaking strength change part 6 inside the pair of side seal parts 5 on the abdominal side A and the back side part B. The breaking strength change part 6 differs in breaking strength from a part adjacent to the part 6. In the diaper 1, in the respective both side end parts 6a, 6b, the continuous elastic member 4 is not disposed between the side seal part 5 and the breaking strength change part 6a on the abdominal side part A and between the side seal part 5 and the breaking strength change part 6b on the back side part B.
