The device has interfaces (6a, 6b) provided within an area of a housing (1) for connecting a sensor device e.g. flow sensor or pulsoxymetric sensor. A display mechanism (7) provided within the housing area displays values measured by the sensor device and a control mechanism (8) controls a function of the device. A fastening mechanism (2) is provided for attaching the housing to a patient. The interfaces, the display mechanism and the control mechanism are arranged in an area of a housing upper side (3) or in side partial areas (5) which connect the housing upper and lower sides. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring and evaluating biological signals.
