PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resilience of a distal end portion of a guidewire after the distal end portion has been bent into a U-shape and to prevent the U-shaped bend from becoming larger during use.SOLUTION: In the guidewire 1, a stranded wire 3 is disposed parallel to a distal end portion 22 of a core shaft 2. An inner flexible tube 5 disposed in an outer flexible tube 4 and surrounds the distal end portion 22 of a core shaft 2 and the stranded wire 3 is provided, The inner flexible tube 5 is disposed so that a distal end 51 thereof is positioned between the distal ends of the core shaft 2 and the stranded wire 3 and a proximal end of the core shaft so as to be separated from the distal ends of the core shaft and the stranded wire. A joint 6 is formed so as to join the distal end of the inner flexible tube 5 to the core shaft 2 and the stranded wire 3. With this structure, the rigidity of a portion of the guidewire between the joint 6 and the distal end of the guidewire and the rigidity of a portion of the guidewire between the joint 6 and the proximal end of the guidewire differ from each other. Moreover, the guidewire has a high rigidity at the joint. Therefore, even when the guidewire 1 is bent into a U-shape when the guidewire is inserted into the lumen of a blood vessel or the like, the portion of the guidewire between the joint 6 and the proximal end is not bent due to the presence of the joint 6 having a high rigidity.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】医療用のガイドワイヤにおいて、先端部のU字屈曲からの復元性の向上、ガイドワイヤ使用時のガイドワイヤのU字屈曲発達の防止を達成することを目的とする。【解決手段】ガイドワイヤ1では、コアシャフト2の先端部22に並行して撚線3が配されている。また、外側可撓管体4の内側でコアシャフト2の先端部22及び撚線3を囲う内側可撓管体5を備え、内側可撓管体5は、その先端51がコアシャフト2及び撚線3の先端から後端側に離間して位置するように配され、内側可撓管体5の先端と、コアシャフト2及び撚線3とが接合する接合部6が設けられている。これにより、接合部6の先端側と後端側とで剛性差が生じる上、接合部6で剛性が高くなるので、ガイドワイヤ1の使用時に、血管等の管腔内でU字形状に屈曲しても、その屈曲は、剛性の高い接合部6の存在により、接合部6より後端側には発展しにくくなる。【選択図】図2
