Disclosed are insecticidal formulations comprising an insecticide such as chlorpyrifos-methyl which are microencapsulated in a polymer shell formed from isocyanate and a cross-linking amine such as ethylenediamine wherein the amine and isocyanate are present in a molar ratio of between about 0.5:1 and about 0.7:1. Also disclosed are methods of producing these formulations and their use in the control of insects.
