A fastening tape comprising a tabpor-tion formed at one end of a tape substrate made of anonwoven fabric, and a fixing portion formed at theother end of the tape substrate so as to be attached to adisposable diaper, wherein: a male component of ahook-and-loop fastener is fixed to a surface of the tapesubstrate at the tab portion； the opposite surface of thesurface with the male component of the tape substrateis embossed； the tab portion is folded back at theboundary between the tab portion and the fixingpor-tion so that the male component is on the folded innerside； and the male component on the tab portion isjoined to the fixing portion of the tape substrate.
