A wrist fusion plate (1) has a proximal portion (10) comprising at least one proximal portion attachment opening (11, 12), wherein the proximal portion (10) is adapted to be attached to a radius (R) of the patient by inserting bone attachment members (40) through the proximal portion attachment openings (11, 12) and into the radius (R) of the patient. A distal plate portion (20) has a plurality of attachment openings (21, 22) and is adapted to be attached to a metacarpal (M) of the patient by inserting bone attachment members (40) through the distal portion attachment openings (21, 22) and into the metacarpal (M). A central plate portion (30) has at least one central portion attachment opening (31, 33) and is adapted to be attached to a carpal bone of the patient by inserting a bone attachment member (40) through the central portion attachment opening (31, 32). The proximal portion (10) and the distal portion (20) are aligned generally along a longitudinal axis (A) of the wrist fusion plate (1, 2, 3, 4), and one of the distal portion attachment openings (21, 22) is an oblong distal portion attachment opening (22) that is elongated in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (A).
