An agricultural harvester (10) includes a first power unit which is couplable with a first primary load (18). The first primary load (18) includes a threshing system load. A first motor/generator (22) is mechanically coupled with the first power unit. A first clutch (17) is mechanically coupled between the first power unit and the first primary load (18). A second power unit is couplable with a second primary load (26). The second primary load (26) includes a propulsion load. A second motor/generator (30) is mechanically coupled with the second power unit and electrically coupled with the first motor/generator (22). A second clutch (25) is mechanically coupled between the second power unit and the second motor/generator (30).
