PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pharmaceutical composition having improved delivery and efficacy of a therapeutically active ingredient to a target tumor site in cancer treatment. A composition for treating cancer in an individual, the composition comprising nanoparticles comprising taxane and albumin, wherein the cancer has a dense stroma and the cancer is mesothelioma. A composition selected from the group consisting of tendonoid fibroids and fibrogenic round cell tumors. The nanoparticles preferably include taxane coated with albumin. The composition is preferably administered in combination with another therapeutic agent selected from the group consisting of antimetabolites such as gemcitabine, platinum-based substances such as carboplatin and prednisone.
