The invention relates (I) to a process for dyeing keratin materials, in particular keratin fibres, preferably human keratin fibres such as the hair, using i) indigo-producing plant powder, ii) at least one alkaline agent as a post-treatment, preferably an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal (bi) carbonate and iii) optionally a chemical oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide or a hydrogen peroxide-generating system in co-treatment with i), and it being understood that the composition comprising the alkaline agent(s) is at a pH inclusively between 7.5 and 11.5； and (II) to the use iii) of alkaline agent(s) for fixing the blue colour of and/or for improving the dyeing kinetics of keratin materials dyed with indigo.La présente invention concerne (I) un procédé de coloration de matériaux kératiniques, notamment de fibres kératiniques, de préférence de fibres kératiniques humaines telles que les cheveux, en utilisant i) une poudre de plantes produisant de l'indigo, ii) au moins un agent alcalin en tant que post-traitement, de préférence un (bi)carbonate de métal alcalin ou de métal alcalino-terreux et iii) facultativement un agent d'oxydation chimique tel que le peroxyde d'hydrogène ou un système de génération de peroxyde d'hydrogène en co-traitement avec i), étant entendu que la composition comprenant l'agent (les agents) alcalin(s) est à un pH compris entre 7,5 et 11,5 inclus ； et (II) l'utilisation iii) d'un agent (d'agents) alcalin(s) pour fixer la couleur bleu et/ou pour améliorer la cinétique de coloration des matériaux kératiniques colorés à l'indigo.
