The ginsenoside Rd of the present invention can effectively inhibit production of active oxygen species generated in a skin cell in a process of irradiating skin with ultraviolet rays, and have excellent effects of inhibiting activity or expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 induced from the skin cell to which ultraviolet rays are irradiated.
