The application is an analog readout front end for bio-potential acquisitionsystems, that is capable of processing electrocardiogram (ECG),elecfroratinogram (ERG) and all kind of neural signals that areelectroencephalogram (EEG), elecfrocorticogram (EcoG) and electroneurogram(ENG). The output of this analog readout front end is ready to feed thesubsequent stages that are analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digitalsignal processors (DSPs). The system consists of a pre-amplifier that amplifiesthe signals that are acquired from human body through electrodes. Along withpreamplifier it has a high-pass and low-pass filter that forms a band-pass filterto reject the out of band frequencies and amplification purpose. It is amultifimctional read out front end that has a variable bandwidth toaccommodate above mentioned bio-signals. It consumes minimal power of 150fxW so it can be easily incorporated in the portable bio-signalrecording/processing systems. The small value of input referred noise of 34.46insures amplification of in-band signals and rejection of out of bandsignals without degrading the signal quality. The system is current mode frontend so it includes advantages co current mode circuits like low impedance andlow voltage swing at internal nodes, it makes the operation simpler at such lowsupply voltage. The current mod topology enables us to operate the systemunder low power consumption with minimal added noise.
