According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of operating the massage chair comprises the following steps of: obtaining first information corresponding to geographical information generated by a user terminal, from the user terminal； obtaining second information corresponding to motion information generated by the user terminal, from the user terminal； obtaining third information corresponding to usage information of the user terminal, from the user terminal； generating fourth information as additional information by using one or more of the first to third information； and determining an optimal operation mode for a user having the user terminal by using the first to fourth information.
