PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy system whose probe including a needle is disposable, and which can receive a collected tissue sample.SOLUTION: A biopsy system includes a probe, a holster, and a tissue sample holder for collecting a tissue sample. The probe includes a needle, and a hollow cutter. In the tissue sample holder, a housing (304) having a plurality of chambers, each of which is configured so as to receive a tray (306) can be releasably engaged with the probe. Each tray is configured so as to receive a tissue sample delivered through a cutter lumen. Each tray can be removed from the housing along the axial direction. The tissue sample holder can be rotated so that each chamber is indexed for the cutter lumen properly.
