An object of the present invention is to provide a novelsystem whereby an enteral nutrient or an enriched liquid foodcan be solidified so that it can be easily administered withina short period of time without liquefying in the body to therebylighten a care-giver 's burden in tube feeding such asgastrostomic feeding. As the results of studies, it is foundout that such a nutrient or an enriched liquid food can bequickly thickened or solidified at a temperature of 40°C orbelow by using a starch adhesive, which contains as the maincomponent sodium iota-carrageenan, sodium kappa-carrageenan,sodium lambda-carrageenan or a mixture thereof, withoutdissolving the starch adhesive by heating. Further, it wasconfirmed that it is an administration method almost free fromwater liberation when the solidified product was administeredfrom a syringe, thus the present invention was completed. Thatis, the use of the above carrageenan as a starch adhesive (asemi-solidifying agent) makes it possible to produce thedesired semi-solidified enteral nutrient as described above.
