The present invention relates to an ultrasonic generation element capable of efficiently generating ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic generation element comprises: a light absorption layer including a plurality of germanium (Ge) nanostructures formed on a first surface and absorbing light irradiated through a second surface opposite to the first surface to generate heat； and a first thermo-elastic layer which is placed on the first surface of the light absorption layer, receives heat generated in the light absorption layer and generates ultrasonic waves in accordance with thermo-elastic expansion due to the received heat.초음파 발생 소자는 제1면에 형성된 복수의 게르마늄(Ge) 나노 구조를 포함하고, 상기 제1면에 반대하는 제2면을 통해 입사된 광을 흡수하여 열을 발생시키는 광흡수층 및 상기 광흡수층의 제1면 상에 위치하고, 상기 광흡수층에서 발생된 열을 전달받고, 전달된 열에 의한 열탄성 팽창에 따라 초음파를 발생시키는 제1열탄성층을 포함한다.
