Adapters have been made to have a proximal portion that interacts with the lumen of the medical device or a distal portion that modifies, augments, or expands the intended use of the configuration or medical device. The proximal portion of the adapter interacts with the lumen of the medical device in a manner that secures the adapter to the medical device during use.
