PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion device which enables the user to perform a puncture operation by a puncture needle and a stowing operation of the puncture needle with only one hand.SOLUTION: An insertion device for inserting a cannula 410, which is held in the retention member 400 of a hypodermic syringe, into the body of a person in which the cannula is to be installed is provided with a puncture needle 100 that is inserted in the cannula 410, an outer tube 200 for holding the puncture needle 100, and an inner tube 300 that is inserted within the outer tube 200 so as to be positioned coaxially with the outer tube 200. The outer tube 200 can be pulled upward while the cannula 410 is inserted in the body of the person.
