To properly remove food deposits, dental plaque and calculusaway from the very narrow gaps between adjacent teeth, a tooth pickis provided, which is thin and rigid enough, so that it can be pushedthrough these very narrow gaps between the teeth. In its basic form, the tooth pick is a strip of hard metal and at least one of its endsis formed in such a way that it is able to push and/or scrape awaythe food deposits, dental plaque and calculus from these gaps betweenthe teeth. Additionally, at least one of the longitudinal sides ofthe strip can be formed in such a way it has at least one tooth-typeprotrusion feature, which also have shapes and edge qualities, whichwill make it possible for the tooth pick to remove food deposits, dental plaque and calculus both in push and pull directions.
