The present invention relates to a seaweed extract having an anti-viral activity against viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus and use thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition comprising a seaweed extract as an active ingredient and having an anti-viral activity against viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) as a kind of fish-infected virus, and use of the composition as an additive for fish feed capable of preventing or improving diseases caused by fish-infected viral hemorrhagic septicemia. The seaweed extract according to the present invention has a specifically excellent activity against VHSV that causes mass mortality of flatfish, among various viruses causing fish diseases. Thus, the composition comprising the seaweed extract according to the present invention as an active ingredient can be useful as a functional additive for feed for preventing or improving fish diseases related with VHSV infection.
