A pharmaceutical dispenser (10) is known with a housing (20) with a medium reservoir (82) with a discharge opening (32) with a connection channel (50) which connects the medium reservoir (82) to the discharge opening (32) and with a detection device (40) which is arranged in the area of the connection channel (50) and is designed to detect the medium flowing in the connection channel (50). It is proposed to improve this dispenser by providing that the connection channel (50) is connected to and communicates with a pressure chamber (52) the detection device (40) comprises a membrane (60) which at least partly delimits the pressure chamber (52) comprises an electrically conductive connection portion (60 60b 63) and can be subjected to pressure by a pressure increase in the pressure chamber (52) and can thereby be deflected together with the conductive connection portion (60 60b 63) and by providing that the detection device (40) has at least one electrical mating contact surface (72 74) in relation to which the membrane side connection portion (60 60b 63) is movable when subjected to pressure such that an electrical contact between the conductive connection portion (60 60b 63) and the mating contact surface (72 74) is in this way established or cancelled.
