The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods useful for assessing the hemostatic efficacy in a patient having suffered from intracranial hemorrhage while undergoing an anticoagulation treatment with a factor Xa (fXa) inhibitor. The method can include administering to the patient a fXa derivative that has reduced catalytic activity as compared to the wild-type fXa protein, is capable of binding to the factor Xa inhibitor and cannot assemble into a prothrombinase complex； obtaining a blood sample from the patient following the administration； and measuring an anti-fXa activity in the sample, wherein the anti-fXa activity reflects the hemostatic efficacy in the patient. Once the assessment is made, suitable medical interventions can be implemented.La présente invention concerne des compositions et des méthodes utiles pour évaluer l'efficacité hémostatique chez un patient ayant souffert d'une hémorragie intracrânienne alors qu'il suit un traitement anticoagulant par un inhibiteur du facteur Xa (fXa). La méthode peut consister à administrer au patient un dérivé de fXa qui a une activité catalytique réduite par comparaison avec la protéine fXa de type sauvage, qui est apte à se lier à l'inhibiteur du facteur Xa et ne peut pas s'assembler en un complexe de prothrombinase； la méthode consiste également à obtenir un échantillon de sang à partir du patient suite à l'administration； et à mesurer une activité anti-fXa dans l'échantillon, l'activité anti-fXa reflétant l'efficacité hémostatique chez le patient. Une fois l'évaluation effectuée, des interventions médicales appropriées peuvent être mises en œuvre.
