The invention provides a method of enhancing the efficacy of antibiotic treatment of tuberculosis, trypanosomiasis, leprosy, and leishmaniasis involving co-administering to a mammal undergoing antibiotic treatment therapeutically effective amounts of a first compound that is an inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase and optionally a second compound that is a product of the cyclooxygenase pathways. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising an antibiotic, an inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase, and a product of the cyclooxygenase pathways.L'invention a pour objet une méthode permettant d'amplifier l'efficacité d'un traitement antibiotique de la tuberculose, de la trypanosomiase, de la lèpre et de la leishmaniose impliquant la coadministration à un mammifère soumis à un traitement antibiotique de quantités thérapeutiquement efficaces d'un premier composé qui est un inhibiteur de la 5-lipoxygénase et éventuellement d'un second composé qui est un produit des voies des cyclooxygénases. L'invention concerne également une composition pharmaceutique comprenant un antibiotique, un inhibiteur de la 5-lipoxygénase, et un produit des voies des cyclooxygénases.
