The present invention provides methods and compositions for treating thyroid-related medical conditions. There are many myocardial-related medical conditions that are not diagnosed and are untreated. These conditions can be prevented and treated with reduced folate and vitamin B12. Administration of reduced folate and vitamin B12 will prevent or treat cerebrospinal fluid deficiency associated with thyroid-related medical conditions. In addition, administration of reduced folate and vitamin B12 will prevent or treat latent macular erythropoiesis and conditions associated with hypothyroidism, and other conditions caused by inappropriate thyroid conditions. In addition, it is common to treat many thyroid conditions with anti-thyroid drugs or thyroid stimulating drugs.
