The present invention notably concerns a novel major allergen from ragweed pollen, named Amb a X, as well as isoallergens and isoforms thereof. Fragments of the aforementioned polypeptides and homologous polypeptides, in particular homologous polypeptides in related plant species, also make part of the invention. The invention also concerns uses of said polypeptides, in particular for diagnosing and preventing or treating an allergy.Cette invention concerne principalement un nouvel allergène majeur provenant du pollen de lherbe à poux, appelé Amb a X, ainsi que ses isoallergènes et isoformes. Les fragments des polypeptides précités et les polypeptides homologues chez des espèces végétales apparentées relèvent également de linvention. Cette invention concerne en outre les utilisations desdits polypeptides, en particulier pour diagnostiquer et prévenir ou traiter une allergie.
