PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carotenoid derivative showing a cytokeratin increment action, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a carotenoid derivative made of one molecular of carotenoid, polyphenol and cysteine. In the derivative, the synthetic enzyme of cytokeratin is activated, thus the production of the cytokeratin is promoted. The production method is composed of a process where branched cyclodextrin is added to a fermentation liquid obtained by fermenting silk and marigold flower with Bacillus natto, and protease treatment is performed thereto. The obtained carotenoid derivative can be applied to health foods and cosmetics with a beautiful skin effect as the purpose. Further, it can be utilized to refined carotenoid derivative medical drugs and quasi drugs exhibiting a cytokeratin increment action.SELECTED DRAWING: None
