PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swallowing ability examination device employing simplified detection means consisting of air pad sensor groups, quantitatively measuring swallowing ability without any special skill, and capable of objectively examining the swallowing ability by waveforms.SOLUTION: The swallowing ability examination device comprises: detection means 4 consisting of a central air pad sensor 11, a right air pad sensor 21, and a left air pad sensor 31 each of which includes at least one or more air bags 13 disposed at a peripheral area of the laryngeal prominence 3 of a living body M and outputs one or more detection signals according to time-dependent change in movement of the peripheral area of the larynx； and a display part 46 that outputs a changing situation of the detection signal of the detection means 4 as that for the swallowing ability examination.【課題】本発明は、簡略化したエアーパッドセンサー部群からなる検出手段を採用し、熟練を要することなく、嚥下能力を定量的に測定し波形により客観的に検査できる嚥下能力検査装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、生体Ｍの喉頭隆起３の周辺領域に少なくとも一つ以上の空気袋１３を配置し、喉頭周辺領域の動きの経時的変化に応じた一つ以上の検出信号を出力する中央エアーパッドセンサー部１１、右エアーパッドセンサー部２１、左エアーパッドセンサー部３１からなる検出手段４と、検出手段４の検出信号の変化状況を嚥下能力検査用として出力する表示部４６とを有するものである。【選択図】図１
