The ion generating device includes a cation generating portion(11a), an anion generating portion(11b), a body(11) and a cover(12). The cation generating portion is disposed on the upstream side of the air flowing direction. The anion generating portion is disposed on the downstream side of the air flowing direction. The cation generating portion and the anion generating portion are disposed on one side of the body to be separated from each other. The cover covers one side of the body.본 발명은 공기가 유동하는 유로 내에 설치되어 공기 중에 포함된 세균을 살균할 수 있는 이온발생장치에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 이온발생장치는 공기가 유동하는 유로에 설치되는 유로를 따라 이동하는 공기에 음이온을 공급하는 것으로, 공기 유동방향 상류측에 배치되어 양이온을 발생시키는 양이온 발생부와, 공기 유동방향 하류측에 배치되어 음이온을 발생시키는 음이온 발생부와, 양이온 발생부와 음이온 발생부가 일면에 서로 이격되게 배치되어 있는 바디와, 바디와의 사이를 통해 공기가 유동할 수 있도록 바디의 일면을 이격된 상태로 덮는 커버를 포함하며, 커버는 양이온 발생부를 덮는 제 1 커버부와, 음이온 발생부를 덮는 제 2 커버부를 포함하며, 제 1 커버부는 제 2 커버부에 비하여 바디의 일면에 인접하게 배치되어, 제 1 커버부에 의해 양이온 발생부에서 발생한 양이온의 대부분이 음이온 발생부와 인접한 영역으로 안내되어 음이온 발생장치에서 발생한 음이온과 결합하게 되므로, 이온발생장치 외부로 유출되는 양이온의 수는 대폭 줄어들게 되는 작용효과가 있다.
