Lipid matrix composition have a particular structure and associated physicalproperties. The present disclosure provides a drug delivery compositioncomprising a lipid matrix and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The lipidmatrix is, at least in part, in a lamellar phase. The lipid matrix compriseslysophosphoglyceride, monoglyceride and fatty acid. The molar ratio oflysophosphoglyceride:the sum of monoglyceride and fatty acid in the lipidmatrixis between 1:3 and 1:12. The present disclosure also provides a nutritionalsupplement comprising the drug delivery composition.
