The present invention relates to T cell compositions related to therapy and treatment, and methods of using same. In particular, the invention provides chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells that have been modified to maintain functionality under conditions where depletion of unmodified CAR T cells is observed. The compositions and methods disclosed herein provide uses for inhibiting or reversing CAR T cell depletion (eg, by modulating CAR surface expression) to enhance CAR T cell function.
