PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending and stretching device that realizes free bending and stretching from an arbitrary position of an elastic guide part as a starting point.SOLUTION: A bending and stretching device relating to the invention comprises: a hollow guide part 2 that has elasticity and a movable piece 3 that is inserted into the guide part 2 in a freely movable manner. The movable piece 3 partially or wholly consists of two belt-like flexible pieces 30a and 30b. When one of base ends 32a and 32b of the flexible pieces 30a and 30b is slid relatively to the other in an axial direction A of the guide part 2, the bending with setting a tip position T of the flexible pieces 30a and 30b as a node occurs at the movable piece 3 in a perpendicular direction B to the axial direction A. When the bent movable piece 3 directly contacts an inner surface of the guide part 2, the bending in the perpendicular direction B occurs at the guide part 2. When the base end 32 of the flexible piece 30 is slid in a direction opposite to the direction at the time of bending, the movable piece 3 and the guide part 2 stretch.COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
