The present invention generally relates to a SIDS detector apparatus and a method of using the apparatus. The SIDS detector apparatus is placed onto a childs finger, toe, ankle or wrist. The apparatus contains a pulse oximeter so that the child is monitored when wearing the apparatus. Through wireless technology such as Bluetooth, the apparatus sends the data collected by the pulse oximeter to a portable electronic device, such as a smartphone. An application on the portable electronic device receives the information and, if the data meets a certain threshold, produces an alert.La présente invention concerne, de façon générale, un appareil de type détecteur de mort subite du nourrisson et son procédé dutilisation. Ledit appareil de type détecteur de mort subite du nourrisson est placé sur le doigt, lorteil, la cheville ou le poignet de lenfant. Lappareil comporte un sphygmo-oxymètre permettant de surveiller lenfant porteur dudit appareil. Lappareil envoie, par technologie sans fil, par exemple par Bluetooth, les données recueillies par le sphygmo-oxymètre à un dispositif électronique portable, tel quun smartphone. Une application installée sur ledit dispositif électronique portable reçoit les informations et, si les données atteignent un certain seuil, lance lalerte.
