PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forced molting agent sufficiently atrophying an ovary/an oviduct and inducing molting by stopping egg laying and gradually reducing body weight while supplying a feed and thereby ensuring a sufficient pause period, to provide a feed for forced molting and to provide a method for rearing a laying hen.
SOLUTION: The forced molting agent is characterized as comprising piperine as an active ingredient. It is found that the sufficient pause period can be given to sufficiently atrophy the ovary/oviduct and induce the molting because the egg laying can be stopped and the body weight can gradually be reduced while supplying the feed when the piperine is supplied. Thereby, the achievement is accomplished.
