An apparatus for measuring blood pressure for animals is used for estimating systolic pressure and diastolic pressure of an animal from a light signal with respect to the blood flow rate according to the pressure of a cuff sensed from a light sensor by covering a part of an animal body with the cuff, attaching the light sensor on an artery of a peripheral part in the animal, and applying pressure to the cuff.
